Tyler is strategically positioned just ninety-five miles east of Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas, and ninety-five miles west of Shreveport, Louisiana. Tyler is also an educational center. We are home to Tyler Junior College, TJC Regional Training and Development Complex, The University of Texas at Tyler, and Texas College. The Tyler Independent School District is the major district in Smith County with an enrollment of over 16,000 in grades K-12.

Our city has outstanding medical facilities with two large private hospitals and the University of Texas at Tyler Health Center. Because of these rapidly expanding facilities and our renowned quality of life, Tyler was recently ranked the 12th healthiest city in the US.

Tyler is the capital of Smith County and one of the most beautiful cities in East Texas. Life moves at a fast, but comfortable pace. The city offers many amenities to its citizens and is appealing to tourists as well.
